Nothing has once again shaken up the mid-range smartphone market with the official global launch of the Nothing Phone (4a) on March 5, 2026. Positioning itself as a “bold, optimistic” alternative to the sea of generic slabs, the (4a) balances Nothing’s signature transparent aesthetic with significant hardware upgrades and a price point that undercuts the competition.

A Vibrant New Look

The most immediate change is the color palette. Moving away from the strictly monochrome roots of the brand, the Phone (4a) debuts in Pink and Blue, alongside the classic Black and White. The design introduces the Glyph Bar a vertical strip of 63 individually controllable mini-LEDs. While less complex than the “Matrix” found on the Pro model, it offers improved brightness (3,500 nits) and a new “falling sand” timer animation, proving that Nothing’s visual flair remains its biggest selling point.

Hardware That Punches Above Its Weight

Under the hood, the Phone (4a) is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. While not a flagship processor, it offers a notable efficiency boost and enough power for high-refresh gaming on its 6.78inch 120Hz AMOLED display. The panel itself is a “1.5K” resolution beauty, protected by the new Gorilla Glass 7i.

The battery is another standout feature. In a win for longevity, the (4a) packs a massive 5,400mAh battery , 5,080mAh in some global regions, supporting 50W wired charging that can hit 60% in just 30 minutes.

Flagship-Grade Cameras

Perhaps the biggest surprise is the camera system. The Phone (4a) features a triple-lens setup:

  • 50MP Main: Utilizing the Samsung GN9 sensor with OIS.
  • 50MP Periscope: A rarity at this price, offering 3.5x optical zoom.
  • 8MP Ultra-wide: For those expansive landscape shots.

Pricing and Availability

The Nothing Phone (4a) starts at £349 / ₹31,999 / €349, making it one of the most competitive mid-range options for early 2026. Pre-orders are live now, with open sales beginning March 13. Nothing is also promising three years of Android updates and six years of security patches, ensuring the device stays relevant well into the decade.
