I’ve been a fan of Nike’s ZoomX foams so I was really excited when they announced the Vomero Premium. I was lucky to get my pair so I thought I would share my initial thoughts on it along with some close up photos on feet.
I can’t get over how the maximum cushioning feels on foot. Every step feels like your floating, if that makes sense. The foam stack is really high but it doesn’t feel unstable or wobbly. The midsole is wide enough to support every step without feeling that you’re going to roll your ankle. The energy return when running is pretty obvious and probably why this pair is banned from competitions.
The light colors on the Vomero Premium made me a little concerned about how long I can keep these clean while walking around the busy streets here in the Philippines. So I’m glad to say that after an unfortunate and accidental step from a friend, the dirt was easy to wipe off with a wet tissue. I guess the upper is made of a nylon blend that doesn’t absorb dirt like conventional uppers do.
All in all, I’m happy with the Vomero Premium, and it will probably be my choice when going on long walks or when I know I’ll be moving around a lot on my feet. Excited to see the new colorways Nike comes up with in the future.
