Samsung’s summer Galaxy Unpacked event in London delivered a major hardware refresh across its foldable smartphones, wearables, and ecosystem devices, putting a massive emphasis on titanium builds and deep Google Gemini AI integration.

Redefined Foldables Z Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8, and Z Flip 8

Samsung restructured its foldable phone strategy around three distinct form factors

  • Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: The premier flagship features a ultra thin 4.1mm profile when unfolded and weighs just 215g. It packs a 5,000mAh battery, a 200MP main camera, and Flex Titanium technology designed to virtually eliminate display crease visibility while boosting durability.
  • Galaxy Z Fold 8: Rather than replacing last year’s layout, this newly introduced model adopts a wider, passport-style design. Unfolding to a 4:3 aspect ratio display optimized for viewing media and gaming, it arrives as the lightest book-style foldable on the market at 201g.
  • Galaxy Z Flip 8: The compact clamshell receives a sleeker hinge, improved 50MP dual cameras, and enhanced AI features operating directly on the outer FlexWindow screen.

Hardcore Wearables and Smart Glasses

The wristwear lineup received substantial performance and health tracking upgrades

  • Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 & Watch 9: Powered by the new Snapdragon Elite processor, the rugged Watch Ultra 2 boasts IP69K water resistance, 10 ATM protection, and dedicated scuba diving algorithms. Both watches gain FDA-cleared sleep apnea detection and new heart health score metrics.
  • Samsung Intelligent Eyewear: Teased ahead of its fall release, Samsung showcased its Google-powered AI smart glasses in partnership with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. The frames promise up to 9 hours of battery life on a single charge.

Deeper AI Integration

Every new device leverages expanded Gemini Intelligence, enabling proactive “agentic” AI task automation across dozens of everyday apps. Samsung also announced Gemini Notebook (built on Google’s NotebookLM architecture), which comes preinstalled on the Z Fold 8 series to turn PDFs, notes, and recordings into instant summaries, slide decks, and audio overviews directly on the expansive displays.
